Broken teeth?

My dentist has told me i got about 3 teeth that are cracked and or broken and i need to get crowns put on. Only issue is now my metlife is about up this year 2007. they cover 1200 a year and since i have got 4 wisdom teth pulled and 7 teeth filled this year that 1200 is about up. i am still waiting on the claims to come back to see actully how much they have paid this year, but from what they are saying it looks like they can only cover one of the crowns if that. So my question is do you guys think the teeth will hold up until next year? because there is no way i will be able to get the crowns put on with out metlife paying there 50% of it. And what should i do since it seems the teeth are starting to get painful?

Broken teeth?
well, first of all, sometimes dentists will tell you that you need crowns when you don%26#039;t. it is one commonly oversold item. i don%26#039;t know the condition of your teeth, so i cannot tell you that is the case, just saying it could be, and many people get second opinions for that reason. it is possible you may only need composite fillings, a bondings or inlays/onlays.

my suggestion is that if you live near mexico or can go there, crowns are much less expensive there. in addition, there is something called a lab made temporary crown that is around $60 and will last up to a year. this is a good option for people in your situation. it is best to go to a biologic dentist. they will put biological compatible materials in your mouth. they are very expensive in the states, but much less expensive in mexico.
Reply:Ask your dentist about a payment option until you can re-up on your metlife.
Reply:I cracked off 4 of my front teeth 3 insisors and a canine I didn%26#039;t get crowns because I didn%26#039;t have the money, instead I got white fillings put on them. They look like real teeth- I%26#039;ve never had anyone question them and when I tell people they%26#039;re suprised. they cost less than 200$ each. They%26#039;re not as good as crowns I%26#039;ve had them break off a couple times but it%26#039;s an excelent solution if you want to wait the year to get a better more permanent solution. I%26#039;m sure metal fillings would be a bit cheaper if they%26#039;re back teeth, ask your dentist if this would work for you.
